The data revealed that a quarter of Americans (24%) update their CV only when they are actively sex, 15% so they do once a year and 7% every few years. What’s more, 4% said they never updated their CV, and only 29% of people update their several times a year as designed.

“Maintaining updating your CV ensures that you are always ready to get an exciting opportunity,” says Amanda Augustine, career coach and resume.io expert. “By making small and regular updates about every three months, you can have a rush at the last minute and make your CV a powerful tool that really reflects your constantly developing skills and achievements.”
To ensure that your CV always is in the best possible state, Augustine recommends spending 30 minutes refreshing every few months, recording in real time, collecting data that supports your success and thinks about future career goals.

“In the revision of your summary, try not to focus only on the past and current responsibility,” says Augustine. “Consider where you want your career to go on and what portable skills they will get you there. For example, if you like a leading role, emphasize the skills and achievements that show experience with management or mentoring. ”
